As the study shows, Łódź is changing its image and economic profile towards a hub of high-tech due to education base, attractive salaries as well as the access to skilled professionals and IT managers. Employers highly value the educational potential of the city. In Łódź as a place to study for 81,000 young people. Nearly 22,000 of them graduates from local universities, annually. A start in a working life of graduates is supported by many programmes, such as “Młodzi w Łodzi”.
Compared to other Polish high-tech centers, Łódź can compete due to lower costs of work that is an important factor in the investment attractiveness of the city. Salaries of professionals and IT managers are about 15% lower there than in the other regions of Poland with qualified workforce. The average salary of IT professional in Łódź ranks at PLN 11,800 (gross), the report says.
On the other hand, employees are offered lower cost of living, which was clearly indicated by the surveyed respondents. The report also shows that 15% of surveyed IT professionals from across the Poland would consider moving to Łódź, and working there for companies that invest in innovative projects.
